Beer Me O Dear

Beer me O dear ; Dear me O beer

I may have been hallucinating but the kids were filled with joy
And those who cried, sulked or complained were given some more
In the schools, I could swear
They were serving, for lunch, beer.

Beer me o dear ; dear me o beer

Engineers at the switching stations working to eliminate alarms
Jobless pilots looking up at every plane flying over the farms
It doesn’t matter what type of career
In every hand I saw a bottle of beer.

Beer me o dear ; dear me o beer

Driving through the unforgiving Chalbi Desert in the North
I wondered if we would eventually require that torch
Whatever speed or whichever gear
Each occupant did drink a beer.

Beer me o dear ; dear me o beer

In India each year with beer- Holi, Shivratri and Diwali
While in England an attorney announced at a white wedding
“Beerly beloved, we are gathered here
…to see who drinks more beer!” (muhahaha)

Beer me o dear ; dear me o beer

I miss her every single minute, and my eyes are filled with tears
When my boat got stuck in deep waters, my heart was filled with fears
On any occasion, it’s only clear
That I gotta have with me, a beer

Beer me o dear ; dear me o beer

In some houses not unlike mine, drinking is considered evil
Even songs or adverts about beer are considered not civil!
Raise your glasses and say “cheers…”
“There is nothing wrong with beer!”

Beer me o dear ; dear me o beer

Everest, Amstel, Black Label, Budweiser, Gorkha, Tusker and Kingfisher
Haywards, Heineken, Carlsberg, Castle, Peroni, Foster and Pilsner
A six pack of my favourite is always near
Don’t think I’ll ever have enough beer.

So Beer me o dear and dear me o beer
Beer me O Dear ; Dear me O Beer.
Beer me O Beer ; Dear me O Dear.
Dear me O Beer ; Beer me my Dear.

this song would best be sung by a blues atrtist… the likes of stevie ray vaughn, b.b.king, bob dylan, jim morrison, jefferson airplane, or even beatles, or joplin, maybe ccr….

and then a hard rock band to cover it… the likes of deep purple, rolling stones, led zeppelin, jimi hendrix, mark knopfler, journey, eagles, maybe aerosmith, bad company… u get the picture
