Heroes?
——-

where were the heroes late last night
when the big yellow taxi took my girl away,
when she was packing after the fight
i swear i called upon them, to make her stay.

and where were the heroes last week
when the speeding car went out of control,
both the car and myself felt weak
nine full rolls, before the great fall.

they said everyone is born a hero
a few years pass and everything changes,
the heroes want to be zeroes, dear-oh dear-oh!!
when all eyes turn to the money gauges.

well, there ain’t no heroes any more
when the world is headed for the dumpyard,
there’s no point in keeping score
when evil is the new wildcard.

at dusk, who will lead the new army of heroes?
asked the little boy with a bald head,
i helped him across and said go where the road goes
at the fork, your answer you will get.
